game screen glitches and freezes when trying to play on world

Ever since the newest update to minecraft bedrock edition I have not been able to play on minecraft. When I click “play” to select a world, it either glitches and the screen freezes with black and pink squares all over it, or it says “syncing to cloud” but then boots me out of the game to the xbox home screen. I’m playing on an xbox x.
