/fill command on bottomless world

When using the fill command I receive error ‘cannot place blocks outside world, yet if I move two or more blocks in any direction, I can continue to use the command. This leaves pillars of blocks unable to be affected by the fill command but can be manually removed. We encountered this issue when clearing a space in the new bottomless world that my child wished to make into a 'space’ world.
