This occurred after i turned vibrant visuals on in a separate world but i noticed that even after turning it off and deleting the testing worlds, other worlds were affected: banners and white entities like sheep and shepherds and iron golems looked a ridiculously bright and certain block faces were no longer in shadow as they were before. After messing around with the fancy graphics and smooth lighting settings, the banners and entities looked normal again but the shadows still are not behaving as they were before. I have attached the before and after below, respectively.
