Minecart sound cancels out all other sound and crashes game

Every time a mine cart is moving near me where I can hear it the rest of the sounds of the game become muffled to the point that it cant be heard anymore. After the cart has moved out of hearing range its sound disappears but the rest of the sounds do not return and the game is completely silent. In order to correct this the game has to be re-loaded. On occasion if the mine cart sound lasts more than a few moments the game will crash and I will have to remove my phone from the VR headset and reload the xbox app.

I have found that the issue only arises when I have a pair of headphones plugged into the phone. The issue does not happen if I am using Bluetooth speakers or if I use the phones speaker. Unfortunately using Bluetooth speakers creates lag and using the phones speaker does not give the directional sound when combating NPC's
