Parrot unexpectedly hit by arrow despite not being in line of fire

While fighting a creeper using a bow and arrow, my parrot companion flew off my shoulder and moved significantly to the left of my crosshair. Despite clearly aiming at the creeper (which was centered in the crosshair) the arrow somehow hit the parrot instead. It appears the arrow registered a hit on the bird even though it was not in the line of fire. This feels like a hitbox or targeting bug with projectiles and tamed parrots
