First time launching minecraft, sound works normally. After switching to another app, and returning to minecraft there is no sound in Minecraft. Sound continues to work normally in other apps.
Force quitting all apps including minecraft does not help.
The only workaround is to reboot the ipad.

Not exactly sure when this started but it was one of the recent updates.
