Water source block not being removed with a bucket in a 1 by 1 by 1 space.

I was mining vertically in a 1 by 1 then I placed a water bucket at the top to the tunnel. I swam up placed a block under the source block to then I was in the crawling animation, I picked up the water, it filled the bucket I placed (I tested it again and it was not a ghost item) but the water source block was still there. I replicated this Bug multiple times but I didn’t get any footage. Hope its not just me and I hope it gets fixed.
