I’ve been dealing with a frustrating touch control issue on Minecraft Bedrock (on my phone).
The issue:
Some buttons in the UI and in-game controls only respond if I press and hold them for a bit longer than a normal tap. It’s like the game needs a deliberate press instead of the usual quick tap.
Here’s what I’ve noticed:
Main Menu (Play, Settings, Marketplace): Buttons work perfectly — a quick tap responds instantly.
Play Menu (Create World, Realms, Servers, etc.): These buttons act weird. For example, to enter “Realms,” I can’t just tap it. I have to press and hold for about half a second, then release. If I tap too quickly or hold too long, it doesn’t send me to my realms and well just nothing happens.
In-Game Controls:
Running (double tap forward): Sometimes doesn’t trigger unless I hold the second tap longer.
Jump Button: Same issue — a quick tap won’t always work; I have to hold it briefly.
I use the D-pad & tap to interact control mode. After some testing, I found that the issue with in-game moving touch controls seems to start when I increase the button size. I’ve always preferred larger moving buttons, so this really messes with my gameplay.
This doesn’t happen on my other mobile devices, so I’m not sure if it’s a device-specific issue or a bug in the game. The device I have this problem on is Samsung S22 Ultra (SM-S908U1). My other deviced that dont have that problem are Samsung S20 FE and Amazon Fire 10 HD 2021.
This is not a recent issue that appeared, I have this on most of my Minecraft bedrock version I played.
On the video it's hard to see the in-game controls problem, but it's real.
Input delay is a problem and nobody really knows why.
