Unplayable Lag as soon as I enter the nether.

My game is running perfectly smoothly with good ping in the overworld, but everytime I even step foot in the nether I start getting unplayable lag to the point where I can't even break blocks or eat. I've tried going in and out of the nether, restarting my game and console, but no matter what i keep lagging every time i go to the nether and it fixes instantly as soon as i return to the overworld. I included a video below to show the level of lag I was experiencing despite having perfect ping in the overworld.
