Never had this problem with splitscreen before but this is very new. As of the recent update, minecraft will crash and close out the game if we play in survival mode. This is only in survival mode, as we've ran constant test with add-ons, creative mode, hoping in and out of dimensions and minecraft would hold up fine. But, if for whatever reason we go into survival and try these things, the game just freezes, crashes, and goes back to home screen. I thought it was add-ons but the game will run smoothly with multiple add-ons, especially with just one person. But splitscreen, creative mode is the only way it will run.
TL;DR: Splitscreen crashes in survival mode whether this is with or without add-ons.
