Since recent updates to Minecraft Bedrock (including 1.21.90), players on mobile devices (Android and iOS) using “Application” storage mode are no longer able to export, back up, or move their worlds.
In the new interface:
The “Export World” button is gone;
There is no option to move a world to external storage;
Worlds saved in Application mode are completely hidden from file managers.
This creates a serious issue across platforms, but especially for mobile users, because:
File access is restricted on Android 11+ and iOS;
Players often don’t have access to a PC;
Backups, transfers, or saving progress becomes impossible;
If the app is uninstalled or data is wiped, the world is lost forever.
🙏 Players need a way to safely export or back up their worlds, regardless of the storage setting. Please restore or add options to move, export, or access these worlds — especially on mobile.
I request the same functionality. My current Android 14 tablet with the MinecraftPE on it is erroneous and will be replaced by a new tablet. However, I am failing to gain access to my worlds, resource and behaviour packs stored on the Android/data storage.
possible solutions would be to allow a backup bundle of all worlds, resources and behaviour packs (probably skins too) and to allow its restore later. Another solution would be allowing backup to One Drive, then when moved to a new device everything can be restored directly with the migration.
