Extreme lag

Game was working fine up until the happy ghast update. Now it’s experiencing extreme lag such as: hunger bar not rising despite the visual and auditory effects of eating still happening, blocks being destroyed by visual effects but not dropping anything, same thing with crops, etc etc.
