This has been the case since the previous version. For some reason, when I select Japanese, I get a non-existent language like Chinese. This language is different from any of the several Chinese languages in Minecraft. It also has “hiragana” mixed in, which is not present in any language other than Japanese, creating a kind of garbled character set.

I tried Minecraft Bedrock Edition v.1.21.94 on Windows 11 and didn't get the same issue.
In addition, it is not Chinese, but garbled text caused by encoding errors.
