Can't sprint jump off a block woth auto jump

I forgot to turn off auto jump when I got minecrafts newest version and for sme reason woth auto jump on it once you pass the last half of the block the jump button is canceled by auto jump and you end up sprinting off the edge of that block (causing me to die from fall damage way high up)
