Minecraft menu not responding (PS4 version on PS5 with disc)

I'm playing Minecraft on my PS5 using the physical PS4 disc. The game boots normally, but when I reach the main menu, no buttons work. I can't move, can't press X or anything else — the menu is completely frozen.

The controller works outside the game (I can open the PS5 menu), but inside Minecraft, nothing responds.

I’ve tried:

Restarting the game and console

Using another account

Changing the controller

Checking for updates

Nothing fixes it.

I'm on version 1.21.92.

This happens when using the PS4 version of Minecraft on PS5 with the disc inserted. I don’t have the native PS5 version because it only shows as a “trial”.

I’ve seen other users with the same issue on Reddit and forums: PS5 + PS4 disc + version 1.21.92 causes a frozen main menu and no input.

Please fix this — I have important worlds and can't play.
