Extremely Lag on realm

Playing in a fairly well developed realm post update, attempting to farm mobs like cattle with traditional tools i.e. axe or sword in a closed pen. Or fighting monsters in general, significantly worse at night on the surface. The lag happens at random points as well. I’ve also noticed it when I’m trying to eat food in game where it will not fill the hunger bar and the food is not consumed. the game will attempt to correct this and after a few tries it gets it but doesn’t fully work

I would expect there to be no lag or at most a little bit especially with a high mob count.

Extreme lag that slows down arrows, glitches the player back a few blocks, mobs take no damage or lag enough they never fall back onto the ground.

Some information about the realm: At most 3 players use it at a time but lag seems constant as in the lag doesn’t increase or decrease with a different number of players. The realm has some small to medium builds but nothing massive, there are redstone devices but they’re not running constantly. They all have a switch to disable any redstone activity which has been used in order to find whats causing the lag. No players are using vibrant visuals. Any excess of mobs in an area like cow or pig farms have been removed. Excess animated blocks like torches or campfires have been removed. Before the recent update to bedrock that added friendly ghasts we had no lag in the realm whatsoever, the only thing that has changed was that we obtained one friendly ghast. I looked to see if lag was originating from the ghasts legs going into the ground as I read that can cause lag but that didn’t seem to affect it. The devices being used in this realm are an Xbox 1, IPhone 16, and PlayStation 5. All of us experienced extreme lag all at the same time.

I have also been having this problem with my self-hosted server that was fine before the update.

I am also having this issue, I saw a YouTuber saying it has something to do with when a happy ghast trying to path find but gets stuck. One fix he said that works is to stick your happy ghast in a mine cart with an activator rail you can use to safely get them out, and it seemed to work for the YouTuber. I’ll have to set one up myself until they fix the bug but for now it’s very frustrating and the only option other than the mine cart is to kill him and I can’t bear to do that. He’s my baby 🥺😭
