Button disappears

When I enter a world, I can't see the movement buttons, the item bar, or the small buttons on the top, but I can press the buttons (I can't see the buttons displayed but clicking the spot will perform actions).

I can see the inventory when I open the box, but the backpack function cannot be used. This is the same even when I create a new world.
