Items disappearing immediately after death and blocks randomly disappear

I’ve had this happen a couple times now after the release of vibrant visuals and the latest hot patches. When I’m flying around with my elytra I will hit random spurts of intense lag and I have no control over my character at all. If I’m close to something, and I hit it and die, my items immediately despawn and I have no chance at recovering them. I just spent a long time replacing everything and now I have to do it all over again. Also random blocks on any of my builds, especially doors, just keep randomly disappearing every time I load into my world. This is getting very frustrating and something needs to be done about this. I’m not going to keep playing this game if I’m just going to spend 90% of my time replacing stuff over and over and over again.
