consistent connection error where I cannot join / host online worlds but can join realms / servers without issue

On the Minecraft Switch Edition, I seem to have this issue where I cannot join or host online sessions on normal Minecraft worlds. It errors out when i host saying "There was a problem with your connection. Multiplayer hosting has stopped and will need to be restarted" yet it says this every time, and I can join a realm or server with little to no lag at all.

My friends just error out after loading for about 5 minutes when trying to join me and I have tried everything to do on the help page with connection errors with no success

i also error out after roughly 5 minutes trying to connect to their worlds

my internet WOULD be the issue IF it stopped me from playing all together, but like I said the other ways to play such as Realms and Servers work just fine as if there wasnt a problem to begin with

this has been happening for months with nothing working.

my nintendo account also plays other games just fine, and my other platforms also connect just fine to normal worlds online.

restarting my console doesn't work, restarting my internet doesnt work, signing out of all my accounts doesnt work

not even uninstalling and reinstalling minecraft itself works and this is frustrating me a lot
