Playing in a survival world on seed 3844 and just defeated the ender dragon. I went through the end gateway and it spawned me over the void. Confused as to what happened I swapped to creative mode and tested if it would happen again but it loaded it properly that time. I then load up the same seed in a new creative world and go through the gateway and it spawned me over the void again. Still don't know if this is to do with the world generation or not as the gateway is right above the edge of an island.

This happened on my realm too. I put up a backup and tried again and it was fine though.
