On Xiaomi devices with the system language set to a Right-to-Left (RTL) language such as Persian (Farsi), Arabic, or Urdu, the Back button (both the Android system back button and the in-game back button) does not respond in Minecraft Bedrock Edition with the new UI.
This issue occurs in several menus, including:
World selection screen
Player profile screen
Player permissions menu (e.g., changing a player to operator, member, etc.)
World creation screen
Other UI screens using the new interface
When pressing the back button, nothing happens, and the player is unable to navigate back to the previous screen, forcing them to restart the app in some cases.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a Xiaomi device running MIUI.
2. Set the system language to Persian, Arabic, or any other RTL language.
3. Launch Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
4. Open any of the menus listed above.
5. Attempt to go back using the system back button or the in-game UI back button.
Expected Result:
The game should navigate back to the previous menu or screen.
Observed Result:
The back buttons do no
t work at all — no input is registered.
Notes:
This issue only occurs when using RTL languages. When switching the system language to a Left-to-Right (LTR) language like English, the problem goes away.
