When mining with hand or other improper tool, Sandstone Slab takes longer to mine than Sandstone.

This has occurred for past updates as well.

Steps:

  1. Place down a Sandstone Slab (any half) and a Sandstone block side by side.

  2. Using your bare hand, non-tool, or improper tool (anything but pickaxes), mine each block and take note of the time taken or the speed of the cracking animation.

Expected Results:

  • Sandstone takes approximately 4 seconds to mine.

  • Sandstone Slab (both halves) take approximately 4 seconds to mine, just as the full block.

Actual Results:

  • Sandstone takes approximately 4 seconds to mine.

  • Sandstone Slab takes approximately 10 seconds to mine.

Conclusion:

The mining time of Sandstone and Sandstone Slabs are not the same when using your bare hand or an improper tool. This was not estimated with any of the following:

  • Installed mods

  • Underwater

  • Bobbing in water

  • Suspended mid-air

  • Mounted in/on any rideable entities

  • Haste (effect)

  • Mining Fatigue (effect)

  • Any other mining debuffs/buffs
