Hey Mojang team,
I’ve been playing on a low-end phone (2GB RAM), and I just don’t understand why Minecraft Bedrock simulates all the way from bedrock to sky, even if I’m only walking above ground. It would make a huge difference if we had more control over simulation height — like a way to only tick 64 or 128 vertical blocks, not the full -64 to 320.
You could add this in Advanced Settings maybe, where we can set how high and low from the player it should simulate. It would really help with performance, especially for sugarcane farms, mob farms, and AFKing on old phones. Right now, even caves are being ticked when I don’t need them, and that eats memory and lag.
Another idea: why not break chunks into sub-chunks — like vertical simulation blocks (64 height maybe) — so simulation distance works smarter, not heavier?
Please add this! Bedrock has so much potential but we really need smarter simulation options — not just more chunks that lag everything.
Thanks and hope you guys consider it ❤️
