Placing a mob head causes the game to crash.

Any time I place a mob head in a Minecraft world, the world crashes a few seconds later, sending me back to the main menu. This is a major problem in terms of gameplay, because it means that I cannot fight the Wither, and can thus not get the associated achievement.
