In split-screen, when one player starts typing, the other player can't move

Whenever I play 2 person multiplayer Minecraft on my PlayStation 4, it always frustrates me when one of us types on a sign or a book, searches in the inventory, types a chat command, etc. because the other player freezes and can’t move their controller until the first player stops typing. I want to clarify that the multiplayer i am referring to is on a tv and it’s not on realms, we are both physically sitting next to each other playing with a splitscreen. This has been going on ever since we started playing a few years ago and it’s very frustrating!

the video shows the player on the left walking when the player on the right starts typing. As soon as the player on the right starts typing, the one on the left (white controller) cannot move anymore. Moving the keyboard does not help. When the black controller player stops typing, the left player regains the ability to move.
