The playsound command before the hotfix update would play sounds across dimensions if the float “minimum volume” has a value. However, in the current version, it seems that this does not happen and states the player is “too far” when the minimum volume should still account for all dimensions.
How to reproduce:
Place a repeating command block in the overworld
Enter the playsound command with a sound of your choice with the required minimum volume value
- Make sure that the sound repeats at an appropriate tick delayUse the /tickingarea command to make the repeating command block render and simulate
Enter any dimension other than the overworld and see if the sound plays.
Expected Results:
The playsound will play the sound with the minimum volume accounted for in all dimensions.
Actual Results:
The playsound registers as “player is too far away” when the player is in another dimension of the executed command.
