Nether trees pierce roofs

The nether trees go through the ceiling, fortunately they don't destroy the ceiling blocks, they just get on top of them,I know that the nether trees are generally taller but I thought that if there is something above them it will prevent them from growing, as happens with the vast majority of trees and the best example is the oak tree.
