My happy ghast disappeared. It was in a nearby loaded chunk and I could always hear it, until I suddenly realized I couldn't hear it anymore. I didn't hear it get hurt or die. It just vanished. It was in an enclosed area (but spacious) and it was harnessed. I checked all around the nearby area and couldn’t find it, so it didn't just wander off. I have seen on reddit that this is a somewhat common problem.
This is a pretty devastating bug, considering how difficult it is to get a happy ghast in Survival mode. I ended up turning cheats on the spawn in a new one, but that meant making it so I can't get achievements. Also, it doesn't feel the same.
