Giant Hole in Superflat World

When I logged out, there was just bedrock, as you can see in the second screenshot. But later when I logged back in, a giant hole was in place of the bedrock as you can see in the first screenshot. It never used to do this before 1.24.100. This has happened to me at least 5 times now.
