When a lava cauldron is placed at Y=0 or Y=1, players standing directly above it (on the same or adjacent block) consistently take fire damage and ignite. This does not occur if the lava cauldron is placed at Y>1 or Y<0. This behavior is inconsistent with other heights and likely unintended.
How to Reproduce
Place a lava-filled cauldron at Y=0 .
Stand directly above the cauldron (jump or build a platform to align the player’s hitbox vertically above the cauldron).
Observe the player’s health bar and visual effects.
Required Setup:
Game Version: Bedrock Edition 1.21.101.1
Platform: Any (tested on Windows 10 and Android)
World Type: Flat world recommended for precise Y-level testing
Observed Results
Players standing above the cauldron at Y=0 or Y=1 immediately ignite and take 1–2 hearts of fire damage per second.
No damage occurs when the cauldron is placed at Y≥2 or Y≤-1, even if the player stands directly above it.
Visual flames appear on the player model during the damage interval.
Expected Results
Lava cauldrons should not inflict fire damage on players standing above them at any height, consistent with behavior at Y≥2/Y≤-1.
Player interaction with lava cauldrons should be limited to direct contact (e.g., falling into the cauldron), not vertical proximity.
