Iron Golem Wondering Away

Hi there! The iron golem in my village doesn’t stay around and protect my villagers, and will instead be wondering off. I feel like I’ve tried everything from (unfortunately) killing the iron golem and crafting a new one, creating more villagers and work stations (in case that was the issue), used cheats for the iron spawn egg, but nothing seems to work. So, even when I craft an iron golem, it doesn’t stay in my village and wanders off somewhere. I’ve also tried removing the add-on (Actions and Stuff) to see if that was the issue and no change.
