How Better Core Mechanics Can Unlock Bedrock’s Full Potential

I’d like to share some feedback regarding the foundation of Minecraft Bedrock. The core systems that mods and addons are built on feel very limited, and this causes many community-made addons to look and play poorly compared to what Minecraft deserves.

For example, I often see addons where vehicles like cars just reuse the horse movement system, or airships that can only move with the pointer instead of proper keyboard controls, which makes movement and camera angles very awkward. Bosses and mobs also suffer from very weak mechanics. They are often too easy to fight and not engaging, their AI feels unresponsive and unintelligent, many mobs have strange circular shadows beneath them, and combat against them doesn’t feel serious or polished.

Because the base mechanics are so limited, addon creators are forced to work with these restrictions, which leads to results that feel clunky and unprofessional. What makes this issue even more concerning is that many of these addons are paid content on the official Marketplace, not just free community mods. Players are spending real money on experiences that feel limited and unpolished, which reflects badly on the game’s reputation.

I’m writing this because I am a passionate Minecraft fan who truly loves the game. I always try to think about what could benefit both the game and the company, because I want to see Minecraft continue its success and become even greater.

I strongly believe that if the fundamental modding and gameplay systems in Bedrock were improved, creators would be able to make much higher-quality content — potentially even surpassing what’s available on Java Edition.
