Weird sun

The sun looks weird and random holes appear and the day/night cycle does not progress even though daylight cycle is on.

You need disable daylight settings to off and waiting 5 minutes will be night.

Do you have any resource packs enabled in Settings > Global Resources or the world settings? If so, does the issue still occur if you disable them?
