Since updates 1.21.5 and later (including the Copper/Golem update), Minecraft Bedrock Edition suddenly consumes significantly more RAM than before. This occurs even when Vibrant Visuals is turned off and no additional programs or mods are running.
Previously, the game ran smoothly using around 3–4 GB of RAM on my system. After these updates, memory usage spikes to approximately 8 GB, causing noticeable lag and stuttering. This behavior occurs in new and existing worlds alike.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21.5 or later on Windows 11 (or your OS).
2. Ensure Vibrant Visuals are turned off.
3. Open any world (new or existing).
4. Observe memory usage in Task Manager or system monitor.
Expected Behavior:
Minecraft should use similar RAM as previous versions (~3–4 GB) when running with default settings and Vibrant Visuals off.
Actual Behavior:
Memory usage spikes to ~8 GB, even with visuals turned off and no background applications running. The game experiences lag and delayed input response as a result.
Additional Notes:
No mods, shaders, or unusual resource packs are used.
Performance was normal in version 1.21.4 and earlier under identical settings.
This appears to be a regression introduced by the recent updates.
Do you have the "Improved Input Response" option enabled in Settings > Video? If so, does the issue still occur if you disable it and restart the game?
