Feel the Nether base in Character creator breaks eye customisation

After the 1.21.111 update, the Feel The Nether base breaks any eye customisations in the Character creator. It adds a 2x2 orange square as the eye “area” and any changes to eye colour or eyebrow colour do not work, only the default eyes are displayed
