Copper Golem invisible when spawned

Whenever I spawn (using spawn eggs or commands) or build (using carved pumpkins and copper) copper golems they are entirely invisible to me. It appears that they are there in the game because the chest they spawn with appears and is interacted with by them but they're entirely invisible and I can't even touch them. Their icons in the creative menu are also invisible.
