After updating to 1.21.120, Minecraft Bedrock on Windows has a major performance issue that gets progressively worse the longer the game is running. This problem did not exist on previous versions.
The update appears to have introduced a memory leak or asset leak related to the new GDK migration. Performance starts normal on launch but steadily drops over time in any world. The game becomes noticeably slower, stutters frequently, and FPS continues to fall the longer the session lasts.
Pre update i would get a smooth 155fps locked, after the update i experience constant stutters and now struggle to get above 90 and it only gets worse as gameplay goes on. Opening menus, inventory, or chests also causes large hitching or freezing
Steps to reproduce:
Install Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.120 on Windows
Launch the game and load into any world
Play for 10–20 minutes
Observe rising RAM usage and sudden FPS drops
Ive noticed multiple people online complaining about performance after installing this update and reporting similar issues such as high/inconsistent ram usage and extremely choppy fps. These issues occur with and without vibrant visuals enabled and mostly seem to affect multiplayer/realms performance, though drops can still be observed in singleplayer gameplay albeit a bit less common
