Steps to reproduce the issue
- Craft a shield with a custom pattern (I crafted a simple red shield). 
- Craft a shield without a custom pattern. 
- Place a custom shield in your offhand. 
- Swap the custom shield with the standard shield in the offhand. 
Expected result
- Since my standard shield is not red, the item’s texture should reflect that. 
Actual result
- Swapping a standard shield to the offhand after having a custom shield in the offhand will cause the item to be rendered incorrectly. 
Note
- I also observe that this is an issue: whenever I put the custom shield in a slot and then swap it with my standard shield, the incorrect shield item renders in that slot.
