Minecraft stopped logging in after the update using Microsoft Child accounts. After the Update the Minecraft for Windows app was considered a new app and now when launched, a window always appears asking you to log into your Microsoft account, even if you're already logged in to the launcher or Xbox app. I go to log in and at every step from opening the Xbox app, to minecraft launcher, to the game itself, it kept giving me pop ups saying do I want to continue with this account, as well as a loading screen in-between opening the launcher i have never seen before. Finally in the game and the only button on screen was "Let's get started." I clicked to go another way and it brings me to sign in and the error: drowned.
I tried several fresh installs of Minecraft + every related Xbox App or Service. It won't change at all. Even after i cleaned every trace and folder of Xbox and Minecraft + using Microsoft Gaming repair tool. Also all relevant services are running well. I also changed the login Password for the Microsoft Account as described in several “drowned” related reports.
Using another parent account logs in fine, but a child account always gets "drowned" on 2 different PC's.
Using the Child account on Switch or other PC with older Minecraft version 1.21.114 > i have no problem logging in.
So it has to be something to do with the new version 1.21.120 and using Child accounts.

I am having similar issues but with the error code ‘Boat’ on Nintendo Switch. I have sent a request ticket and have attempted all of the troubleshooting methods provided on help.Minecraft. I have even unplugged my internet router as suggested on the discord server. Nothing has worked. I was told to submit a vote for this issue in the hopes when this problem is fixed, the boat error will also be fixed
Chris, the Boat error code is tracked at MCPE-230711 .
Updating to Gaming Services 32.107.3001.0 in the Microsoft Store solved this for one of my children. My other child’s computer was still on 32.106.29001.0 and still has the issue and unfortunately Game Services was failing to update for several hours. It too has now updated to 32.107.3001.0 and the issue is now resolved for both of my children’s computers.
Thanks.
Confirming that the solution proposed by Siebren Dijk works. I downloaded and ran the Gaming Services Repair Tool from the provided link (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/troubleshooting/gaming-services-repair-tool), and it completely resolved the login issue. Thank you, Siebren!
After today's update of the Microsoft Store and Xbox apps via the Microsoft Store, everything is now working.
Error code Drowned seems to be resolved but no access to Market place, custom skins or custom servers…Feels like half a fix!
The same issue.
Steps I have already taken with no effect:
Logged out and logged back in with the child account in the Minecraft Launcher, Xbox app, and Microsoft Store.
Verified and re-enabled all multiplayer and communication permissions for the child account on both account.xbox.com and the Microsoft Family Safety website.
Used the "Repair" and "Reset" functions for both Minecraft Launcher and the Microsoft Store app.
Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft.
Logged into the affected PC with the parent account (it works), then logged out and back in with the child account (still doesn't work).
It appears the update has broken authentication or permission handling for child accounts within a family group.
