My computer has 16 GB of memory, starting with this latest update, Minecraft is now using almost 10GB of my 16GB of physical memory (bringing it to 98% usage). It only takes about 5 minutes of play for the memory to reach this level, which causes the lag to be horrible, making the game unplayable. I tried switching to the Fancy video settings instead of vibrant visuals, but that didn’t help. This is the update that caused this issue:
