Hello, I made a post with two different bodies of text, but one of them got flagged as a duplicate without addressing the first one. I hope this does not result in a duplicate as it is an entirely separate problem.
Summary
I have a software that allows me to keybind various buttons of my mouse. I have my scroll wheel set to right click (I use it to place a lot of blocks while building instead of having to spam my RMB) but starting with this update, the game no longer registers the right clicks properly. Previously, it would place at several blocks a second. Now, it will only place one or two in the same amount of time, even when I scroll faster than I used to. When I right click using my actual RMB, it registers everything properly. It’s as if the game is registering a fraction of the altered input from the mouse. I know it’s on Minecraft’s end because I have used a cps tester and my scroll-clicks are working properly.
Steps to reproduce
Set place block/use item keybind to RMB or “Mouse button 2”
With a software that allows reprogramming of a mouse, set the scroll wheel to input as “Right Click” or “Right Mouse Button”
Open a world
Use your scroll wheel to place blocks
Observed Results
Blocks place very slowly and intermittently, at a set speed no matter how fast scroll wheel is moved.
Expected Results
Blocks place in respect to the speed of the scroll wheel and the input from the mouse, allowing for quick and consistent block placement (How it worked before the update)
Please let me know when this is fixed!
Thanks,
Daniel Q.
What software are you using? Could you also attach a video showing the issue?
