When leaving the nether to the overworld the game crashes to desktop at the point where you should start seeing the overworld load. This is likely after the autosave that happens when changing worlds. When re-loading the game and the world you da start at the point where you otherwise should have in the overworld just now you have to re-start due to a crash.
