2-player Split-screen Does Not Work

I only play Minecraft in 2-player split-screen mode. The forever world we share is not consistently loading properly as of late but I have been attempting to start it up and see if we can play. If it doesn’t close due to error in the first couple of minutes (which is rare), we try to add the second player into the game. Every single time we try this, the screen splits for two players but immediately closes to the error page shown below. Please help us get our world back
