The "Keep on death" tag no longer displays in an item's info box.

Using the tag: {"keep_on_death": ]}} tag, no longer displays that it is present on an item.

It used to display at the bottom of an item’s information box, clearly stating that the tag is applied to that specific item, but this is no longer the case, and hasn’t been for some time.

(See attached images for how it used to look, versus now).

Recreate this issue:

  1. Use this command as an example: /give @s diamond_sword 1 0 {“keep_on_death”:{}}

  2. /kill @s

  3. You will see that you did not drop the sword upon death, however when you inspect it, there is no indicator that the tag is applied, even though there once was.

The image where there is no tag features a Diamond Sword, with the keep_on_death tag applied, but no tag is displayed in comparison to the other image, which is how it used to show in a player’s inventory.

At some point, after an update, this text no longer showed up, and needs to be addressed.

I cannot reproduce this. What device(s) have you tested this on? Also, do you have any resource packs enabled? If so, does the issue still occur if you disable them?

Yeah strange, I made a fresh world to test this and the tag does appear on that world, but on my Realm it does not.

I tested removing all of the add-ons, and the tag still does not display.

The only difference between my Realm world and the fresh one, is that the world on the Realm is also an experimental world with that toggle enabled when it was created.

So I guess that might be the problem, that the tag does not show in experimental worlds?

Okay, so I found the gamerule to display tags, and it was set to false for whatever reason, not sure if that happened after an update or my friend changed it, but this was a false alarm regardless. Apologies 🙂
