These glitches have been happening for a year or so I'm guessing, mostly on a friend's server, and whenever I explore somewhere new, leave for a bit, then go back after a while, the land has changed with all the chunk pits/towers added. They are very dangerous in the End and Nether as you could be running around or digging and you won't know if you'll suddenly fall into lava/the void or not, and it's almost always a clean cut too so there's nothing to catch yourself on if you fall. It's very irritating when it comes to structures such as Villages, Trial Chambers and Ancient Cities because if you leave, more or less than half of it could be deleted and replaced with normal landscape or caves.
I didn't get any pictures of it but there was a new trial chamber I found and was planning to try it out with someone but now there's only one spawner and one vault left and only 2-4 chunks left of the entire structure altogether.
It not only has been happening in that friend's server I joined but also in my own worlds, so that confirms that it's not just a glitch in their server.
Even though I love it, I must refrain from exploring until this issue is fixed.
Luckily, from that video in the End, it seems as if everything I build will not be affected by the new chunks that spawn around and I have not noticed anything I built getting deleted.
Also, (another glitch that's unrelated) I haven't been able to βbreedβ (duplicate) my allays in one of my most consistent worlds for a long time as well, and I can't look for more as it will corrupt the terrain if look for new outposts

Yes, mostly. But it still happens in new worlds and throughout the same version(s).
I don't know, I'd have to figure out how to do that first.
Yes and no. Even if I've been in a new area for less than an hour and then leave for a while, it'd be changed when I come back.
I'm not exactly sure, I can't find a specific date of when it was made, but in the texts I've had with the owner of that server, the oldest mention is late 2023.
*in places that have been generated for a long time, like where I settled down to live and the main spawn, the chunks have been mostly the same ever since apart from a couple smaller changes.
Hi!
Does this MCPE-189996 describe your issue?
Could you try to reproduce the issue on the newest update?
Does this issue occur only on old chunks?
When was the world created?
