Prior to the update, I was able to make filters for copper golem sorting chests, by pre-filling the chest with filter items and locking the hopper underneath. Standard sorting tech, really. But it relies on the copper golem doing the actual sorting. My filter items consists of regular items, usually stacking to 64 all renamed to something custom (like “filter-item”, ex), so that they wouldn’t stack with the normal items of the same type and so that the copper golem would distinguish between the named items and the not named items of the same type. After the update, the golem no longer distinguishes.
Steps to reproduce issue:
1. Rename a stone to “filter-item” using an anvil.
2. Put the renamed stone into a chest
3. Put down a copper chest and a copper golem within reach of the normal chest
4. Put another stone (not renamed) into the copper chest.
5. The copper golem picks up the regular stone and attempts to find a fitting chest placement for it.Expected result:
The copper golem will not be able to find a fitting chest for the regular stone, he’s holding, since there are no empty chests/trapped chests or chests/trapped chests with regular stone inside already.Actual result:
The copper golem puts the regular stone into the chest that already has custom-named stone inside.

“working as intended”
that’s so inconsistent behavior to default minecraft - that named items are counted as the same as items without naming. Only golem sorting does this - the rest of minecraft behavior doesn’t. Hooray for consistency facepalm
Oh well - the golems are way too buggy and laggy for actual use anyway - back to pure redstone storage!
