How To Reproduce
play on a device with a keyboard
enter a world
press either the Open Chat key bind or the Open Command key bind (defaults to “T“ and “SLASH“)
quickly begin typing your intended chat message or command
Expected Result
The expected result is that when using default key binds typing the sequence: (T, M, I, N, E, C, R, A, F, T, ENTER) would open the chat and sent the message “minecraft“ in the chat.
Note: This is the case when the time between inputs is long.
Actual Result
The actual result from typing the sequence: (T, M, I, N, E, C, R, A, F, T, ENTER) is that the message “necraft“ being sent instead of “minecraft“ due to the first few key presses not being read.
See the attached example.mp4 for a screen recording of performing this in the game
Additional Information
The same result happens when pressing the Open Command key bind.
I approximate that the first 0.5 seconds of key presses are not read upon pressing the Open Chat or Open Command key bind. This is enough delay for even slower typists to send the incorrect chat messages or commands.
Testing this on Minecraft Java Edition, and the issue is not present. Typing the sequence: (T, M, I, N, E, C, R, A, F, T, ENTER) will correctly send “minecraft” in the chat.
I tested this with multiple keyboards to ensure this was not an issue with my keyboard.
