Crash that completely resets the world.

The main issue with this bug is that it boots the player from the world, and shows the “connection lost" screen, upon trying to reenter the world the file is overridden with a new copy of the same seed.

Over the course of a week I have experienced the same bug 3 different times. This bug seems to have no common cause, although two of the times it happened were while I was in the Nether and had just been attacked by a piglin.

The first time I experienced this bug was on December 6th, as I was entering a Nether portal in my [2 year old, 800MB] survival world. Immediately as I entered I was hit by a piglin, and then once the screen popped up that signifies the player is loading between dimensions I was booted out of the world and shown the connection lost screen with an Enderman animation. Upon returning to the “My worlds” page I noticed that the file for my world was noticeably smaller, (650MB as opposed to 800), thinking little of it I loaded back in and was immediately met with the same connection lost message. However this time upon returning to my worlds the worldfile read at 4MB. Upon loading in I was met with a fresh version of the same seed. I could tell it was new because several years ago I did not originally spawn at the foot of a mountain with cherry blossoms, it was just the foot of a normal hill prior to Caves and Cliffs. The odd thing though, was that my days played still read as around 2500.

The second time I experienced the bug was earlier today, December 13th, several days after Mounts of Mayhem has dropped. (I mention this to let it be known that the bug exists both before and after the drop, and is therefor unconnected to anything newly introduced) I was playing on a backup of the world and was in the overworld collecting gravel when I was booted off the world again only to see a smaller file size upon my return. Not caring to waste my time with the same loading into a new world routine, I deleted the file and continued on in another save.

The third (a d hopefully final time) was earlier today, as I was in the Nether collecting warped wood. I was hit by a group of piglins and flew away, about a minute later I was booted from the world and came to find another 4MB save.

There seems to be no common cause between these crashes. It is possible that it is due to my own wifi connection momentarily cutting out, but even if that is the case, the overwriting of a world file when disconnected from the internet is another problem that would need to be solved. I don't want to be one of those people loudly shouting in the comments of YouTube posts “FIX BEDROCK,” however this is similar to the issues that were occurring on the PC. If players keep loosing their worlds they will loose the motivation to continue playing, bugs like this are something that must be fixed for players to continue to be able to put their faith in this game.

Can tell you that it is not your WiFi connection, because even if it was the world would still be automatically saved from time to time. It's pretty unfortunate that you lost your world, I've been experiencing crashes on the new update but nothing close to this, anyway hope the devs launch a hot fix in December.

Hi!
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue is Invalid for the bug tracker.

Crashes such as these are logged automatically by the game and investigated further by the development team internally, so they are not generally kept on the bug tracker.
