Whenever I send a chat message, the input text field loses focus, so to send another message, I either have to set the focus again with the mouse, or close the chat and reopen it - opening the chat window sets the focus.
I think this bug was introduced in the Copper Age update. Prior to that, you could send a message, and then immediately start typing in another one if you wanted to, without setting the focus manually.
