When mending is applied to a tool, and using your sword to kill something (xp grinder) to fix it. The item doesn’t get mended and instead the xp goes straight to your xp bar. This defeats the purpose of all manual xp grinders as you would affectively need to kill the mobs with your pickaxe to mend it as we still can’t use the offhand..
